My friend Jon (the one that bought me the rare mentos) and I were e-mailing back and fourth about Apple’s new HTPC-like software (Front Row), so I asked him to do a little write-up on his home theatre PC setup. I got to play with it a bit last winter while out there visiting, and was very impressed. Since then he’s added quite a few features to it so I thought it would be interesting to see what hardware and software he used, what things worked and what things didn’t work. He sent me back a 36 page document (much of it was pictures)! It is definitely too long for one post, so I’m going to break it into several posts over the next few days. If you have any questions, or comments, leave them in the comments area on the blog and I’ll make sure Jon sees them, or more likely, he’ll add answers to the comments as well. Enjoy!
Scott asked me to do a little write up about my HTPC (Home Theatre PC). So I’ve put a “little†something together. I’ve put a lot of time into my HTPC and I love showing it off, so heck yeah I’ll do a write up! I’ll start with a list of features and then go into a bit more detail.

[…] This past Tuesday, Yahoo! announced their purchase of technology from Meedio who make software for Entertainment Center PC’s. I’ve been eyeing Meedio for a while now and was planning on using their flagship “Meedio Essentials” application for an HTPC that I’m planning on building this summer. You may also remember some older posts about Jon’s HTPC. This is the software he uses to power his beast of a entertainment center pc (I’m hoping he’ll speak up in the comments). […]
