The <a href=\"http:\/\/archive.org\">Internet Archive<\/a> has recently added a collection of playable old-school handheld video games. Their new <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.org\/details\/handheldhistory\">Handheld History section<\/a> houses close to 75 versions of retro handheld games. You can play them emulated right in your browser window! My brothers and I had a number of these games growing up. The collection includes super old school games like <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.org\/details\/hh_simon\">Simon<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.org\/details\/hh_cqback\">Electronic Quarterback<\/a>. It also includes many of the the old <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.org\/details\/handheldhistory&amp;tab=collection?and[]=creator%3A%22konami%22\">Konami wedge shaped games<\/a> (that we had a lot of as kids). I was a bit disappointed that they didn&#8217;t have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/search?biw=1482&amp;bih=1321&amp;tbm=isch&amp;sa=1&amp;ei=W2ixWrjeC4TysQXjkrnACA&amp;q=teenage+mutant+ninja+turtles+konami+handheld+game&amp;oq=teenage+mutant+ninja+turtles+konami+handheld+game&amp;gs_l=psy-ab.12...0.0.0.172656.0.0.0.0.0.0.0.0..0.0....0...1c..64.psy-ab..0.0.0....0.5GV4PbS_4YA\">Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles<\/a>. I remember saving my allowance up for several weeks to buy that one. The collection also includes quite a few of the Tiger brand games as well. My brother had <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.org\/details\/hh_tddragon\">Double Dragon<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The archive blog <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.archive.org\/2018\/03\/18\/some-very-entertaining-plastic-emulated-at-the-archive\/\">has a post about the process<\/a> that goes into archiving these games since it&#8217;s not just graphics on a screen like most emulated games.
