There are a number of notable new features (from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mozilla.com\/firefox\/releases\/1.5.html\">release notes<\/a>):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Automated update<\/strong> to streamline product upgrades.  Notification of an update is more prominent, and updates to Firefox may now be half a megabyte or smaller.  Updating extensions has also improved.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Faster browser navigation<\/strong> with improvements to back and forward button performance.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Drag and drop reordering for browser tabs.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Improvements to popup blocking.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Clear Private Data<\/strong> feature provides an easy way to quickly remove personal data through a menu item or keyboard shortcut.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Answers.com is added to the search engine list<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Improvements to product usability<\/strong> including descriptive error pages, redesigned options menu, RSS discovery, and &#8220;Safe Mode&#8221; experience.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Better accessibility<\/strong> including support for <a href=\"\/access\/dhtml\">DHTML accessibility<\/a> and assistive technologies such as the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gwmicro.com\/products\">Window-Eyes 5.5 beta screen reader<\/a> for Microsoft Windows. Screen readers read aloud all available information in applications and documents or show the information on a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.deafblind.com\/display.html\">Braille display<\/a>, enabling blind and visually impaired users to use equivalent software functionality as their sighted peers.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Report a broken Web site wizard<\/strong> to report Web sites that are not working in Firefox.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Better support for Mac OS X<\/strong> (10.2 and greater) including profile migration from Safari and Mac Internet Explorer.<\/li>\n<li>New <a href=\"http:\/\/developer.mozilla.org\/en\/docs\/Firefox_1.5_Beta_for_Developers\">support for Web Standards<\/a> including SVG, CSS 2 and CSS 3, and JavaScript 1.6.<\/li>\n<li>Many security enhancements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I know I&#8217;m probably about the millionth person to post about this, but if you&#8217;re using Firefox, this is definitely worth the update.
