For more, see: <a href=\"http:\/\/techory.com\/blog\/jons-htpc\/\">Introduction and Table of Contents<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>The only negative I can think of:<\/strong><br \/>\nOnce setup, the system is very FF (Fianc\u00c3\u00a9 friendly); one simple remote controls everything and it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s very intuitive. However, setting it all up is a totally different story. That\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s a lot of different software I mentioned above, and it can be pretty frustrating getting it all to play together in a friendly manner. Personally I (and probably a lot of people reading Scott\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s webpage) really enjoy the process of making it all play nice. You end up with a really nice result with endless flexibility. However if you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re looking for something that is \u00e2\u20ac\u0153plug and play\u00e2\u20ac\u009d this couldn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t be any further from what you are looking for. With a TIVO you just plug it in and it works (essentially), but on the flip side your TIVO can\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t control your coffee maker.  \u00e2\u02dc\u00ba  Do whatever works for you.<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nSome positives:<\/strong><br \/>\nCrazy good picture quality<br \/>\nCrazy good sound quality<br \/>\nEverything accessible from one location with one remote<br \/>\nEverything cataloged and searchable with cover\/box-art<br \/>\nTons of old school games with real controllers<br \/>\nAC3 (5.1) Music Library<br \/>\nHome automation integrated into Home Theater<br \/>\nEasy to expand and upgrade<\/p>\n<p>Wow, I can\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t believe how much I typed. If you made it this far I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m sorry it was so boring. Hopefully it was informative, and hopefully I just made it easier for anyone else that is interested in something similar. I know for me it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s been a huge learning process with lots and lots of failed attempts. And I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m sure I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll learn a lot more too as it continues to expand.
